Dive into the world of ceramics: learn to throw in a small group of 5
I have set up my workshop since 2021 in the countryside of Percy-en-Normandie. The setting offers a unique and immersive experience. Imagine yourself, your hands immersed in the earth. You are surrounded by a small group of five people, maximum, all united by the same passion for ceramics . The atmosphere is warm and friendly, conducive to learning and creativity .
The courses are designed for beginners as well as for experienced amateurs. Each session begins with an introduction to the basic gestures of turning . I guide you step by step to become as autonomous as possible on the path to precise and revitalizing body knowledge.
The different types of internship offered: one day, one weekend or 5 days (in summer 2025)
To meet the varied expectations of participants, several training formats are offered. Whether you want to learn ceramics during a discovery day or deepen your skills during an intensive weekend, there is an option for everyone.
In summer 2025, longer five-day courses will also be available. These courses allow for total immersion in the world of ceramic throwing, offering more time to explore different shapes and carry out more ambitious projects, depending on each person's level.
The courses are organized at the workshop, adjacent to our picturesque house in Normandy, in a wooded garden of over 1,000 m2. This inspiring daily environment adds an extra dimension to your experience, allowing you to create in a bucolic setting, surrounded by nature.
Ceramic techniques and practices
Introduction to gestures on the lathe
Learning the basic movements on the wheel is a crucial step for amateur ceramists. In the workshop, each student receives personalized attention to master this technique. The wheel is a fascinating tool that allows you to shape clay with precise and harmonious movements. I will show you how to center the clay, drill, build the walls and refine the shapes.
The introductory sessions are designed to be progressive. You will start with simple exercises to understand how the clay behaves under your hands. Then, over the course of the sessions, you will gain confidence and dexterity, until you can make more complex pieces such as bowls or vases. Every gesture counts and contributes to the final beauty of your creation.
Enameling session as a complement after your internship
Glazing is an essential step that enhances your ceramic creations. After shaping your pieces, you will have the opportunity to participate in an glazing session. This technique consists of applying a layer of enamel with a brush on the surface of the objects before their final firing. The enamel not only provides an aesthetic finish but also lasting protection.
During these sessions, you will discover the different types of glazes that I make available to you and their effects on stoneware. You will learn how to apply them with precision and understand the chemical reactions succinctly what happens during firing. It is a magical moment where your pieces come to life under a new light, revealing unsuspected colors and textures.

“It is a rare and privileged moment during which we take time for ourselves, to feel the earth, to follow our inspiration, at our own pace. (...) The advice, the material provided and especially the diversity and beauty of the enamels offered allow us to shape the pieces and magnify them. A moment of pure pleasure and relaxation that I hope to find again soon.”
